Pietism and its Influence on the Civil Society of the Scandinavian Countries

Abstract


This article is dedicated to Pietism, a 17th century German Lutheran movement that called Christians to deep their life, prayer, and piety. In the 18th century, Pietism got from Germany to Scandinavian states and promoted schools, educational organizations, cooperatives, and peasant and worker movements.
